A bit of weekend fun i indulged in .....who says preggy dressing has to be boring???? People say life changes after marriage…….mine has been a rollercoaster of sorts since the day I met my husband….our marriage was arranged…yes we got hitched in the traditional way J there is an old world charm attached to the whole thing of “arrange marriage”…..the relatives & friends…the ceremonies chaos and of course the dressing up part……just as any other girl I loved every bit of it……. Was totally enjoying “being married” part till life sprung up another surprise…yes they declared I was expecting…the first reaction….so soon?? My god how would I manage….its a huge responsibility but thanks to the guy on my side everything turned into one of the most cherished time of my life……… J And then as a part of another list of surprises..here m sitting in Melbourne….almost a month away from delivering my first one blogging….life is unpredictable and surely springs surprises…….this one is pleasant t

Turbans have been a part and parcel of Sikh identity ….the way rest of the world percieves this of a sardar or a surd (in the modern lingo) is a bearded guy with a headgear…probably colourful (coz bollywood movies really mess it up with surds indulging in buffoonery at best & totally cartoonish outfits including colourful turbans…….which is not true if one is familiar with the Punjabi culture as such… Talking of turbans & turban tying one man who single handedly defined the style of turban tying and gave it a distinctive look was Maharaja Bhupinder Singh….a man best known for his extravagant & highly colourful life…..it is said he had 88 children from his close to hundred maharanis ,ranis and concubiles………he spent almost 60% of his state expenditure on family expenses alone!!!!!!:) Anyways moving on to the real topic,it was during his reign that the turban gained much prominence & a different style….it is said it

I am reminded of an old film song “it happens only in India….by anand raj anand ” when I see the current political pandemonium & the key players enacting the evil and the good part. Isn ’t the prime issue being put on the back burner with petty internal politics & jealousies taking over……. India was once known as the land of snake charmers & sadhus ,then economic reforms & liberalization attained the centre stage…suddenly India was emerging as a third world superpower with a human capital ,a booming economy ,huge commercial market yet explored and intelligence quotient as good as the so called developed nations .yes the issue of corruption still plagued us Indians all this while and as concerned citizens we wanted this issue to be tackled strongly and cleansed out of the prevailing political & economic system yet the current scenario of events unfolding dangerously are putting India as an economic power waiting to be taken over by eccentric babas …….

Closet tales…….

Ever faced a situation…. “Standing in front of the closet searching frantically for the outfit you wanna wear for the day”……..m sure it happens with us all the time. Suddenly u realize the cupboard is filled with the same mundane olive greens, blues or greys….or it contains too much of yellows, reds and purples enough to make u feel dressed up as a christmas tree……….as they say excess of everything is bad then how to strike d perfect balance?? Faced with the similar story I decided to redo my wardrobe and discovered few handy tips which can be of great help…. First corporate essential…shirts & trousers…..buy the 2 pair max of essentials whites in case of shirts….then comes the greens(must I say olive wud suit the office enviro…than a flashy fluroscent green…..,purples have become a favorite with the fashion fraternity lately….invest in good brands which promise great cut & fit…….the trick is to have pastels in the wardrobe unless u r the “screaming for attention types”

shopping......the beat d blues therapy:)

What does happiness stand for a girl?? Bagging a big project…getting a big hike….finding love…..partying till dawn on a weekend ……getting drenched in the rain….n then suddenly when we have these “things” in our life we set to conquer the bigger and the better things in life……..for a start a classy handbag n the high heels wud do the trick..Okay a couple of more shopping bags filled in with more “oh so luvly items she never saw before”wud do the trick….:)n the next time she visits the shopping centre her list of “oh I really wanna have that items gets bigger or better still replaced by another long list of “must haves”……. it’s so gud to have a go at shopping rather than crying and cribbing about a failed relationship, irritating in law, bugging boss, a nagging & nosie colleague……………………..they say it right….shopping is indeed therapy!!a mood lifter & a feel gud factor……a new haircut…a couple of dresses ,an expensive n classy handbag, favourite pair of stilettos does wonders to e
