Closet tales…….

Ever faced a situation…. “Standing in front of the closet searching frantically for the outfit you wanna wear for the day”……..m sure it happens with us all the time. Suddenly u realize the cupboard is filled with the same mundane olive greens, blues or greys….or it contains too much of yellows, reds and purples enough to make u feel dressed up as a christmas tree……….as they say excess of everything is bad then how to strike d perfect balance??
Faced with the similar story I decided to redo my wardrobe and discovered few handy tips which can be of great help….
First corporate essential…shirts & trousers…..buy the 2 pair max of essentials whites in case of shirts….then comes the greens(must I say olive wud suit the office enviro…than a flashy fluroscent green…..,purples have become a favorite with the fashion fraternity lately….invest in good brands which promise great cut & fit…….the trick is to have pastels in the wardrobe unless u r the “screaming for attention types”
Regarding the trousers…a checkered trouser is a must have….also a corduroy can work if office rules are not that strict…….the colours to choose in this case are standard…..beige…dark blue and off course the black & the greys…….
Accessorizing can do wonders to a plain jane outfits…the key here is to mix and match.Pastels with a riot of colours…..scraves,stoles handbags & flats can prepare u well for a hard day at work with a broad smile………
Since its winters here…..investment in a good knee length coat along with a shorter version would do the trick J
Knee length skirts offer the comfort as well up your style quotient and are an office girl must haves……stocking it up with a pair of black or blue socks would do wonders to the look….just ensure that the skirt measures up to the knee….an inch lesser or more wud kill the whole ensemble…….
Now comes the option of opting for relaxing Indian wear if the “shirt trouser” thing is not your types…….
Kurtas /kameez fill in the equation perfectly then….a kurta coupled with a pyjami makes you look fresh n ready to take work.if you are in love with the patialas then ensure it is light & easy to carry off lest you regret wearing them in the first place..there are many readymade options in the market which fit the bill……here too accessorizing rules the show!! Stoles & duppatas when matched with a simple white chiken kari kurta easily steals the show……………
Keep the footwear to flats & low heals ……..this are offers much experimentation & scope for improvement…..peep toes,& ballerinas look gud with the western formals while mojaris & kohlapuries do the trick for the Indian outfit!!!
A minimal makeup look ….a hint of gloss and a kohl pencil would complete the comfy & no nonsense office look!!:)
Friday is a much more relaxed day in terms of the look & the options one can explore are in terms of comfy tees jeans or colourful kurtis……..long flowy skirts also form a gud option if the office environ allows u to do so!

Now comes the “special occasion dressing up tips”………………
Do not do the blunder of mixing a heavy saree /suit with matching heavy jewellery …....instead a heavy suit with look fab wid a light kundan/polki earringsJ
Also if you wanna stand out in a party then “fusion” is the thing to do!!!!!an intricate blouse worn on a simple white shirt would make u look stunning…it can matched with jeans & nice heels……..delving into the topic of heels/pumps solids colours are my personal pick though stone studded heels n sandals form a second hot favourite………………
If you are bored with that brocade suit you got as part of your wedding trousseau then take it to the local tailor to turn it into a fab piece of long jacket which looks out of this world wid contrasting silk pants……..If light colours is your pick then compliment it with nice kundan & diamond jewellery!!
Some other must have accessories are gold/kundan bracelet, nice watch ,pearl necklace for that understated elegance……& hair accessories J
In the end these are mere suggestions…..coz I believe “no one knows u better than your own self”….mix and match n carry off the dress with oomph........lot of jealous glances are sure to follow!!!!!
